Divorce: The Employment Impact

Women are more impacted in the workplace if children are involved in the divorce due to their inability to take time off, and the significant cost of childcare.  This is further compounded if the wife’s wage is lower than that of the husband’s.  Promotions are less forthcoming for those women who cannot work additional hours due to children commitments, and this in turn impacts their superannuation benefits later in life.
